The day they became princesses

By Lieutenant Lisa Foley ANC

Wearing white gloves and Cinderella-style ball gowns, eleven girls were recently presented to society at the TS Voyager Debutante Ball.

The debutantes and their partners, who looked striking wearing their barathea jackets, were all members of TS Voyager.

More than 150 guests turned out to witness these young ladies make their debut. The reception centre was decorated in a sea of blue and yellow, keeping with TS Voyager colours.

As each girl was introduced, she walked down the stairs, meeting her partner at the bottom.

“I was definitely nervous, especially about tripping on my dress, or down the stairs, but I didn't,” said Leading Seaman Katrina Smith, the first debutante to be presented.

The night was enjoyed by all and hopefully it will be a wonderful memory in the lives of the debutantes and their partners.
