Courage, Initiative, Teamwork

ORDER OF THE DAY FROM COMMANDER AAC

TO AAC PERSONNEL

ON THE 2010 CHIEF OF ARMY CADET TEAM CHALLENGE

The CA Cadet Team Challenge was held over the period 4-6 March at the Canungra military base in South East Queensland. Like past competitions it was a demanding activity that tested both the individual and team skills of those that participated and I was impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm of all the cadets that competed. The cadet teams clearly demonstrated the AAC core key values of initiative, teamwork and courage.

Of course we all recognise and congratulate the South Queensland and South Australian teams who came first and second respectively, in the overall competition, and the North Queensland team that won the RSM-A Drill Competition.  However, regardless of the overall result I can assure you that all the teams that took part performed to a very high standard and were excellent representatives of both their region, and the AAC as a whole. All the teams would have been worthy winners of what was a demanding and thorough test at the individual and section level. During their visit the Chief of Army and the Regimental Sergeant Major of the Army remarked on the commitment, endeavour and professionalism of the participants and from my perspective there can be no higher compliment.

Finally I would like to also acknowledge the efforts of the staff Headquarters South Queensland Brigade who organised the ‘Challenge’, as well as the other staff and cadets who supported the activity and ultimately contributed to its success.

I commend the efforts of those who took part in the CA Cadet Team Challenge in 2010 and encourage those who aspire to represent their region in 2011 to perform to the same high standards as those who competed this year.
