Welcome aboard the offical ANC Website!

ANC

In 91 Units across Australia, sponsored by the Royal Australian Navy, over 2000 staff and cadets learn about sailing and seamanship, develop leadership skills and learn how to communicate effectively.

They develop confidence, pride and self-discipline whilst having an ocean of fun and making loads of new friends along the way.

Check out our pages, find a Navy Cadet Unit near you and set sail on the voyage of a lifetime.

DG Hand over Message

It was with great pleasure I assumed the role as the Director General Australian Navy Cadets on 11 December 2009.

I bid Commodore Mike Smith a fond farewell as he moves to his Practice in Canberra.  I thank him for his strong and wise guidance.

The current ANC framework is a credit to everyone and positions the organisation well for the future.

I am currently tackling the vast amount of knowledge which comes with this complex organisation.  I must congratulate everyone on their tireless efforts to make Cadet activities fun and educational.  I realise everyone goes beyond the call of duty on many, if not most occasions.  I commend you on your dedication and thank you for the work you do.

My initial areas of interest are:

  • Safety - ensuring compliance and making it practical to implement.
  • Operations - ensuring the Cadets experience a wide range of activities.
  • Fun - ensuring people enjoy being part of the organisation.

I look forward to working with you and meeting you as opportunities arise.

Regards

Geoff Geraghty
