The Australian Defence Force Cadets is Australia’s leading youth development program, supporting 13-18 year-olds to become confident, capable and resilient community members.
Every Cadet is given the same opportunities to grow as a leader, thrive in team environments, improve communication skills and have a great time!
With over 28,000 Cadets nationwide, the program wouldn’t be able to provide the amazing experiences it does without community involvement and support from volunteers. And that’s where you come in.
If you’d like to help out, you don’t need any previous military experience. Our volunteers span a diverse range of age groups, cultural backgrounds and professional backgrounds. Any training you need will be provided upon joining.
Whether you have a little time to give, or a lot, you can get involved in a number of ways. From helping to prepare meals or organise activities, to mentoring Cadets on parade nights or camps.
However you contribute, you’ll be welcomed into a close-knit, supportive and friendly community of volunteers who are putting the future of our nation in good hands.
Giving back to society, working as a community and making a difference in young people’s lives can be extremely fullfilling. But you’ll also grow personally too, with opportunities to develop leadership and managerial skills to take back to your paid job.
Plus, you could enjoy experiences that are completely unique to the Australian Defence Force, all while forging friendships and community relationships that could last a lifetime.
